Orientations were one of tne of the worst systems added to the game by far. I ultimately want Viviënne (my sim) to end up with her male friend either way, but the lack of variety in who she can date without cheating traits is upsetting. My game got a lot less gay when this update came out, instead of more so.
Yet another blunder made by EA in the field of inclusion and diversity, like with the whole My Wedding Stories situation. They made the orientations update trying to be 'inclusive,' but I've found that it's forced my sims a lot of the time to be heterosexual. If you use mods, this thread's lists and ongoing reports can help you prevent game errors and help you avoid having to do a 50-50. It also tracks updated game mods and non-cosmetic updates to custom content. It's making the Villanous Valentine aspiration even more awful than it usually is. This thread tracks Sims 4 mods and CC that have been 'broken' or made obsolete by game updates or declared unsupported by their creators. She's had like 5 boyfriends and it's gone well with every male sim so far. The issue is almost EVERY sim she encounters is heterosexual. My sim is female and going for both the Villanous Valentine and the Serial Romantic aspirations (she's the Red generation in a Not So Berry challenge).
I installed a mod recently that makes newly-generated sims bisexual, but it's really confusing changing orientations manually via MCC.
